Thanks for posting! I started making dataquest 3 months ago because I wanted an easier way for people to get into data science. I'm self-taught, and it can be painful to learn all of the concepts needed.
I chose to teach Python because it's much easier to learn than R (I learned a lot of coding with R, and it can be tough), and it's increasingly used in production data science work.

A lot of data science just turns into data munging (90% of my workflow doesn't have to do much with stats, it's more of preparation, manipulation, etc). I also wanted this to be accessible to beginners. More advanced stuff is coming!
