My impression is that medical technology lags a lot behind the state of the art primarily due to the approval process (FDA in the US). What's your outlook regarding actually getting this kind of technology into the clinic?

I think there's lots of reasons for the lag - not sure the FDA is the biggest. If you can show that you can solve a valuable problem then you'll be able to get the funding to go thru the FDA process. I think a lot of people avoid the healthcare space because they're scared of the regulations - which is a shame because there are so many opportunities to contribute.
