Urban Institute is one of the largest public policy think tanks in the US, and is certainly the most data driven. We are hiring a research programmer to work on computational models of social science. Experience with Java, C++, or Fortan for data engineering is required, and having some data science or analysis skill on top of that would be great. It's a wonderful and flexible life-work balance, doing work that really matters with a team using cutting edge tools (docker deployments, D3 for data viz, spark environments, etc).
