Interesting article, airline tickets have been a fascination for me so there's two things I want to comment on.
The first is the author only looked at US airline prices within the US. For me as a Canadian flying is much more expensive. I am willing to drive to Syracuse or Detroit for cheaper flights than pay more for within Canada. I think limiting their survey to just ~30 US flights is too small of a sample size.
The other thing is I am walking away from this article not knowing what the author thinks the best time to buy flights is. From what I've read in blog posts, in internet articles and even from economic journals is the best point is ~6-8 weeks in advance. I am not sure where the authors heard 2 weeks.
