Ah, I'd say name it, sure, but keep it under source control so when that disk dies you don't lose everything. Either git or mercurial are the best available nowadays. Mercurial is easier to learn, git more popular, potentially more powerful. Don't worry about being fancy, just have your stuff in some repo.
Being able to track the history, roll back etc comes for free once you do this.
